Respiratory infections in rats and garbage as Home / bedding?

3 days ago bought two rats from Petco. They are approx. 12 weeks old and hooded. Sor rats. We bought them and went home with them after riding the bus home in the city. Shortly after one of the girls started sneezing, at first I thought it would be to form the cold weather that day, but then I realized q and a sense that the bedding can be the problem, the error was made achieving a mixture of wood chips (such as pine) Wellllllll point of the question, I found a recipe to make my own bedding: shredded newspaper / magazines / paper reg … warm water … eco-friendly dish soap and baking soda, a drying time in a pillowcase in the dryer. My final question is, does anyone use this method, and Dide to work to ease up on sneezing. I also gave the rats a few cloves of garlic that they loved, because I read that could help. Thanks!

Sneezing is common in rats for about a week after bringing them home. Related stress. They do not like change and move from a pet store's home is a little annoying at this point, but fall is on it. Dispose of wood chips. You should see a change soon.
