When I was young, we found a squirrel in the yard who was blind of an eye. We ended up feeding a day and take it to a local wildlife refuge, so that they could care for him, but due to lack of space, wondered if we could keep with us and gave us information on how to care for her. We have had for years, and have come close to him. Now, living on my own, I was looking at getting another squirrel as the former (Wombat, I named him) is still back at home with my parents. However, they are not exactly falling of trees here, and I'm not sure if there is a good way, respectful of the environment likely to "adopt" another boy. Does anyone know where might be able to find a squirrel could bring home with me as a pet? It would be nice to me if it came from a shelter of some kind, as comepletely was my first blind after two years, however, I still loved him until he walked away. Thanks for any help you can give!

the adoption of a squirrel isn't a good idea, because they occupy so much space, they need a lot of room to roam. I suggest a hamster, gerbil, jird, guinea pig, chinchilla or pet mouse instead of filling the hole, I do like rodents too nice but its not ethical to raise a squirrel because few people can get the right conditions.
